If you followed my last article "Yes and No Balls," let's talk about the "No Balls." Remember, a "No Ball" is a shot that your opponent hits very hard, deep, and wide, etc. (very offensively hit). This puts you in the defense. You are not trying to win the point. You would be happy just to get the shot back and not allow your opponent to control the offense. Not winning is not losing.
What are the most common mistakes made when receiving a "No Ball?"
- Hitting it too hard
- Trying to return it with too much angle
- Trying to win the point with it.
Remember, 80% of all balls you receive in a match are "No Balls." The way you handle them will be critical to you becoming successful.
Good luck on the Court!
