Important Serve Tips

- Leave your toss arm up until your toss stops or peaks.
- When you bring the toss hand down, bring it down at the same speed your toss is falling.
- Try to get the head of your racket down past your lower back, near your bottom. Your racket handle should be near your ear and the tip of the racket should be pointing to the sky.
- When your racket is in its lowest point, down past your bottom, you should be going up!
- Once the racket is at its lowest point try to drive the racket up, not forward. This is called your "vertical power."
- Once your arm goes to full extension, stop the arm and let the wrist accelerate. This is where most of your power comes from.
- To simplify where your racket goes, stand about 1 1/2 to 2 feet from the fence and try not to hit the fence. Go back leading with the butt of the racket, not the head of the racket.
- To help your toss, stand close to the fence, maybe a foot or less, and try not to allow your toss to fly into the fence. Also, do not allow the toss to hit the fence and pull the toss backwards. Try to keep the toss parallel with the fence.
