I'm still hanging in these unsettling times. Really, I have maintained a normal teaching schedule. Mainly giving private lessons and maintaining social distancing. No problem! All the kids I have are missing their friends, lunch and recess. They seem to be striving on the computerized home schooling! With bad hips and poor vision and I am not able to play competitive tennis.
However, for the last 15 years I have been road biking to stay in shape. I have done the MS150, Houston to Austin, for the last 15 years. Of course, they canceled it this year! I had been training very hard and was devastated! So, I decided to do it on my own to honor the many donations that were made for M.S. I have raised almost $45,000.00. I rode 100 miles on Saturday and 80 miles on Sunday the weekend the ride was to take place. Talk about hard! The weather turned hot and the wind was relentless. There were no rest stops, police-controlled intersections and no comradery. It will really make me appreciate when things go back to normal. I am seeing many things start to normalize, but we still have to be thoughtful and careful.
Let's all keep hanging!
Good luck on the courts!
