During the pandemic many of my students are not practicing the way they used to. They have the time to play, but of course no school, so no school tennis team, fear of the novel coronavirus and isolation.
Now, when I give a lesson to my students and the lesson is over, I give them homework. I show them how to practice each and every thing they learned with simulation exercises. Without hitting a ball, you can train your brain to perform perfect techniques. This is called "motor memory." You can go through hundreds of these repetitive exercises in a relatively small time period.
I even give them repetitive foot work exercises to simulate a match. You will see a huge improvement in your actual game by spending 15-30 minutes a day doing the exercises. I will guarantee that the next time you take a lesson, and immediately start practicing what you learned by simulation swings, you will definitely improve your entire game. Remember, "practice makes perfect" still applies.
Good luck on the courts!
P.S. Go through each of your individual strokes and shots at least 50 times a day. It will not take that long and the benefits will significant!
