At the end of the evening, Texas Longhorns football star Vince Young came
on the court to hit a few tennis balls with Roddick (who was "handicapped
by having to hold hands with a long line of ball boys and girls) and throw
a few football passes to Andy along with several fans that were chosen
from the stadium audience. Tournament organizer Jim McIngvale had agreed
to donate $10,000 to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for each pass that
was caught... four of the six passes were received without a fumble
(including a long cross-court pass to Roddick) so a total of $40,000 was
donated.
