When you and your partner are at the net, instead of being side by side try using the split position (that is, one player a little closer to the net than the other player):
- Since 80% of the balls go down the middle of the court in a doubles match this allows both players to stay agressive toward the middle of the court.
- It gives your opponent the feeling that they have a smaller target to hit through thus keeping the middle of your court tighter.
- You are in a better position to run down a lob being that one player is farther back than the other.
- Best of all -- it will prevent you from getting in each others way.
