If you are a right hander, you should point your left hand at the approaching ball in order to:
- Establish a hitting (strike) zone. Think about a baseball batters strike zone.
- Help turn your shoulders early.
- Contact the ball early (remember, you should hit the ball 18 inches in front you your left hip).
- Remind you to catch your racket with your left hand during the follow thru.
- Help maintain balance.
If you are left handed, do these things with your right hand. Watch and you will see all great players point with their left hand.
