Can you move your opponent from side to side on the baseline,
occasionally hitting 2 balls consecutively to the same side of the
court (thus, "wrong footing" your opponent).
Can you vary the speed, height, direction and spin on the ball
during the rally?
Can you place pressure on your opponent by attacking the net,
especially when you realize that you are losing from the baseline?
"Serve and volley" and "chip and charge" off the serve return are
common tactics here.
Can you pull your opponent to the net and pass or lob them off the
net? Typically, your soft underspin or chip will allow you to draw
them in.
Can you remember to take a little off your first serve or add a
little more spin to your first serve when your first serve percentage
is low?
Can you remember to not rush when you are ahead or behind in the
match? Pace yourself for the entire tournament.
Can you hit your approach shots softer and deeper to allow more time
to cover the passing shot?
Can you slow down your opponent's fastest shots and can you
accelerate your opponent's slowest shots?
Can you look at the ball with your "Focused Vision" and scout out
where your opponent is with your "peripheral vision?" This will
prevent you from missing shots because you are not watching the ball
or because you are looking at your target just before you contact the
ball.
Remember "You can and you will!"
Good luck on the court!
