Re: Tennis in the Washington, DC area

There are many racket clubs in the Washington Metropolitan area which
includes DC, Northern VA, and Southern MD. John Graham mentioned two
excellent ones in Northern VA. The teaching staff in these and many other
clubs are exceptional. All have extensive programs

The age of your student is significant because there are some good junior
programs available too.

Many local communities have "Swim and Tennis Clubs" which also have tennis
teams and access to instruction. The local Realtor should be able to advise
based on the location in which your student will live.

Many areas like mine have an extensive youth club organization that offers
various sports team competition (e.g., soccer, basketball, tennis).

USPTA and USPTR have directories of certified pro's showing their location.
You may want to contact one of them directly once your student's travel plans
are set.
