High school tennis program

We are starting a brand new tennis program at our high school this year.
Four new courts are almost finished and I will be getting interested
players together for the first time in a couple of weeks. Has anyone
begun a new tennis program at a high school before? Are there pitfalls
to be avoided? I've been a classroom teacher for 20 years and have a ton
of respect for starting things right. Need suggestions. Also, as the
courts near completion, I'd take a few suggestions on activities to
celebrate the courts. The town is small and rural and the courts are for
the community as well as the school. I thought of an all-night, 24 hour
come one come all tennis extravaganza with free coffee, door prizes,
silly competitions, etc. Ideas?
