[tennisbiz] Re: Dealing with bad attitudes
Hello Randal,
Sounds like a bad case of "fear of failure." There is a lot of pressure
coming from somewhere, you, the parents, even the kids themselves. Take the
pressure off, tell them first you want them to have fun, but what is fun?
Fun is doing the best you can, riding the adrenaline surge and controlling
it, enjoying it. Fun is working on your game and getting better and
stronger. Fun is laughing at your bad shots but also knowing that you can do
better. Fun is enjoying your opponents great shots and acknowledging them.
Fun is winning and also losing, knowing that you got out there and did the
best you could. So Randal, take some pressure off yourself and have some fun
with these kids.
Sincerely,
Edward S. Fagen
