[tennisbiz] Cure for men's tennis
Hahahaha let's open a new can of worms!!! Enough of the mental toughness
(fighter's spirit) suggestions. Let's let the fur fly with this new idea:
Men's tennis is currently boring. It has been for some time. Agassi is
wonderful. Hewitt is a lot of fun. But watching Phillipousis (?) play
Krajicek (?)....I'd rather watch the WNBA!!! Boring. Points that last a
fraction of a second. Thirty aces from each of them in a single match?
Awe inspiring perhaps....but very very boring. The time has come for a
change. Give this some thought before you lash out with your scathing
responses!!
Servers are only allowed one serve per point. This places a premium on
getting the serve in, which means that there will be far fewer aces.
When a player does go for an ace...or serve and volley....it will add a
new element of strategy
to the game. That's it. That takes care of the problem. No need to
change the ball. No need to change the equipment. No need to change the
dimensions of the court. Let the boy's play....but let them play in a
way that will make the game interesting again. Let's try it in an
exhibition first. Put Safin against Rusedski....and heck...I might
even watch!!!
