We run a similar operation, and our experience has been that often people
bring in items mainly because you have not yet begun to set rules for
running your establishment.
1. Just place a small notice where it can be seen, asking people not to
bring in outside food. Then let anyone who prefers to do so to pay a small
cover charge for use of facilities. This will discourage them from bringing
in food.
2. Encourage people to buy your goods by making them available right where
they are. Sports people love little bitings and quick drinks. The problem is
that F & B facilities are often placed too far away and patrons then do not
feel "tempted" to buy anything.
3. Try marketing yourselves on busy days: you will be surprised what
happens!
