[tennisbiz] Tennis ladders
In response to the interest shown in my ladder system as a result of my
posting on June 11, (re the ladder system at
http://www.centralfloridatennis.com) I have considered how this could be
made available to tennis clubs and organizations.
Here is what could be done:
1 I will register a domain name for your ladder - for example, if you
have a club named XYZ Tennis, the domain could be www.XYZTennisLadder.com.
2 I will customize the ladder system to display the club details, logo,
etc. Changes to the rules to reflect local conditions and preferences could
also be made.
3 I will set up and host an internet site under this domain name where
players can register, view ladders, issue and view challenges, report
scores, view results and rankings, register as active/inactive, etc. Ladders
will be set up for Mens Singles and oubles, Womens Singles and Doubles,
Mixed Doubles, Junior Boys Singles and Doubles, Junior Girls Singles and
Doubles, Junior Mixed Doubles. Players can access this siite from a link
from your existing site or it can be your only web presence.
4 I will maintain the internet site.
The cost?
Probably around $100 to regsiter the domain and set up the site including
some basic customization - logo, club name and details, etc.. That would
include the internet regstration and annual fees for one year - thereafter
approx $35 per year.
Approx $35 per month to host and maintain the site.
Most clubs that run a ladder seem to be charging an average of $25 per
person per year.
So, 18 players on the ladder covers your costs.....
You will see that I am not going to get rich from doing this! BUT, it would
be good to see automated ladder systems become more widely available without
clubs having to become internet progammers or 'reinvent the wheel'.
