[tennisbiz] Re: Racquet Stringing
Some racket manufacturers do recommend two piece stringing only. I do know
that Prince does this on lots of rackets. The main reason is that the
cross strings should be strung from the top of the racket down to the
throat to insure less stress on the racket frame. Some rackets it does
not matter and the choice is yours. Some string sets come with two piece
strings so you don't have any choice.
To be absolute about it you really need to know what the manufacturer
recommends. If your just going to string a few rackets there is no need to
join the United States Racquet Stringers Association. I suggest you
contact the manufacturer of the racket and most will be happy to send you
the stringing instructions for the racket. Some have web pages that do
this like Wilson. There are some very basic stringing instructions for
various rackets at http://www.klippermate.com/patterns-frames.htm
