[tennisbiz] Re: two-handed backhand grips
Paul,
The key in getting players to hit solid two-handed backhands is getting them
to learn to hit opposite handed forehands. For a right hander, the left hand
is the dominant hand when hitting two-handed backhands. Start teaching
forehands to the players then opposite handed forehands then add the bottom
hand (wherever comfortable but not in a western forehand) and they will hit
solid two-handed backhands. If you are skilled at teaching a progression to
them they should be able to learn this quickly enough to play "fun activity
games" even the first session on the court. Remember that only the most
skilled teachers can teach normal or non athletic players to become skilled.
That is your challenge, I am sure you will rise to the occasion.
