[tennisbiz] Re: two-handed backhand grips
In response to Miguel Hernandez' comments about not teaching
two handed backhands, I have to enter a word of dissent.
The two handed backhand forces a shoulder turn. It also uses the
biceps of the left arm rather than the weaker triceps of the right
arm.
It is also usually easier for younger children to learn with two
hands, and if tennis is to keep up with other sports it is important
to involve kids in tennis to participate tennis play when they are 6
and 7 years old.
Finally, it is much easier to convert from a two handed to a one-
handed than the other way around.
