The key is to figure out how many calories your daughter burns each day.
Then build a diet that fuels her needs. Most active children her age can
burn between 2500 and 3500 calories per day. One you determine the number
of calories you need to balance the foods that she needs. protein, fats,
carbohydrates, etc.
In the Sates most children that age have horrible diets. They will eat two
bags of chips and a cookie for lunch then try to play tennis after school.
They usually run out of gas in the first set.
Let me suggest you get the book Sports Nutrition Guidebook, by Nancy Clark.
The book is great and explains a lot about nutrition from the average
persons standpoint. It is also the text for the USTA's Sports Science test
on nutrition so it has applications to tennis.
You should be able to purchase it at amazon.com or any bookstore out there
as it is very popular.
Good luck.
