[tennisbiz] Re: Clay court maintenance
At our club, we also have a tradition that people brush the har-tru courts
after use. This leaves them in good shape for the next players, rather than
just have thme in good shape immediately following the maintenance period.
In the 12 years I have been here, I have found that this policy keeps the
courts in very good shape, we have no low spots, and the variety of methods
and patterns that our members use to sweep also tends to even out the
distribution of the top dressing. A little by-product is that it makes the
members (and particularly out juniors) aware of what it takes to keep the
courts in condition, and they tend to take more pride in the courts because
of this (I am at a member-owned country club)
