[tennisbiz] grassroots tennis program question

<x-charset iso-8859-1>Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to organize a "grassroots" tennis group and
program here in my community.

I've met a lot of other players close to my home who are
looking for an organized tennis program. But many of them,
like myself, have been laid off (that's the way it is now,
here in Silicon Valley - I'm in South San Jose).

We love the sport, and want to play, and have some extra
time to work at it. But, we can't afford to join the private
clubs right now. Our parks dept. is not sponsoring anything
currently for adults.

I'm planning to start a local group to meet, practice, and
play together. Do you have any recommendations, resources,
tips, etc that may help me organize and get started? Any
thoughts on getting the word out? Do you think any local
tennis shops would help?
