The forehand grip should be the one for the return.
People think it should be a continental so it is easier
to change grips, but this would mean that you have to
teach your student 3 or more grips to play, one for the
forehand, another for the backhand and one to wait for
the ball. The forehand is the side you attack with and
the backhand is to set up the point or be defensive,
(idealy), so if you want to be offensive you should wait
with a forehand grip.
