<x-charset iso-8859-1>Grip Size Help for Players with Big Hands
--------------------------------------------------
Hello Everyone. I'm a tall guy with big hands.
I buy racquets in 4 5/8 sizes, but these are too
small for my large hands and I find them hard to
hold onto. They twist a bit and I find I have
to squeeze too hard - it hurts my elbow.
Measuring my hand with a ruler at the bottom
lateral crease, I get 5 and 3/16" to the top
of my ring finger.
I've tried new thicker grips, and I always wrap
an overgrip or two on top. But all the soft grip
material makes me lose a good feel for the handle
and bevel edges inside.
I've heard about heat-shrink handle sleeves.
Would these add the width I need? From 4 5/8 to
5 3/16, I need 9/16 or about 1/2 inch.
Anyone have ideas on how to build up the handle
itself? I don't mind adding some weight, but I
don't want to sacrifice the bevel edges.
Thanks in advance for your help - it's GREATLY
appreciated!
