[tennisbiz] Re: Sport walls
Dear Scott,
We've had a 6-panel (4 computerized) SportsPC system at Marriott's Desert
Springs for a little more than a year now.
As you can see from playing around with it, this is just perfect for all
levels of players. A 4-year old and a professional player can each get
benefits on the SportsPC.
At www.Sportwall.com you'll see I've written a piece on "SportsPC for the
Teaching Professional."
This basically underlines the benefits of the Sportwall for the teaching
professional.
As far as events, I think I wrote something for them as well, but I can't
seem to find that now. You can do fundraisers of all sorts. You can have
weekly competitions, annual competitions and use different SportsPC games
and levels for competitiors of different levels.
You can have an event at your club or you can invite the entire public. If
you're at a club, you can have inter-club competitions.
You can hold an entire tournament with a 64 draw in a matter of a few hours
on the SportsPC. Have a local teaching professional event. Believe me,
they'll go crazy over it and have a ball!
Try a "Play The Pro" on the Sportwall where the pro hits for 1 minute and
amateurs play the same game for 90 seconds.
By the way, we charged $25 a half hour for rental of the Sportwall before 5
pm and $15 after 5 pm. During the summer (our off-season) we're charging $15
per half hour any time.
I'd say take what you charge for ball machine rental and add another $5 per
half hour or so to that and sell it as something at least as beneficial as
the ball machine and a lot more fun!
All for now. I might have more ideas, but the desert sun baked my brain for
4 hours this morning! We're only about 110 degrees today...
Respectfully,
Jim Leupold
