[tennisbiz] why women pros don't serve and vooley

Alan: to respond to why WTA players don't serve and
volley; the same reasons why ATP players don't serve
and volley any longer. That is where tennis is going.
To say women pros cannot volley is not true, they all
are very good at every facet of the game,but all of
the pros have gotten into a comfort zone. Look at the
men's doubles champions a few years back. They were
your classic clay court Swedes. And part of the
problem is how the way things have been. In the grand
slams after you play a 5 setter the last thing you
want to do is to play again. That's why the better
serve and volley players don't bother with double. So
the women side has adopted this selfish kind of
thinking. Why risk a singles title to waste energy
playing doubles. And let's face it most of the WTA are
not in very good condition if you compare them with
other women professional sports. I can go on but my
