Hi Peter,
The two handed backhand return of serve and one hand topspin/slice
groundstroke is probably not going to work for a lot of people. The
reason I'm working on it because I'm changing my backhand from two
hand to one hand. I started with one hand backhand five years ago
and a few months after a coach persuaded me to change to two hand
before I felt comfortable with the one hand. After almost five
years of playing with the two hand backhand, I felt that it never
caught up with the rest of my game. I do return serve well with the
two hand backhand though which I will continue doing. In the last
two years I've been incorporating a slice backhand(one hand of
course) a lot and most recently I'm getting more comfortable
hitting it with topspin. It still needs a lot of work but its worth
trying. I felt that my two hand backhand has reach its mediocre
heights and its either stay with it or try another stroke. You
never know until you try.
