<x-charset iso-8859-1>While watching Wimbledon on TV the commentator mentioned that the nets were
loose and that balls hitting the white net band many times will go over as
compared to the nets at the US Open. According to "Friend At Court", the
net is suppose to be tightened until it is approximately 40 inches above the
ground and then the net band is tightened to 36 inches. If all the nets are
tightened in this manner by the officials, then why are the nets at
Wimbledon loose and the ones at the US Open tight? Is it because the net
material is softer?
