I agree it's not the teaching pros job to be a doctor but it is (in my
opinion) the pros "job" to understand the physical and health limitations of
the client and work with them.to get the most out of them. If their goals
are unrealistic...I also believe it's the pros job to offer their opinion of
where the student is AT THIS TIME. It's not shutting the door or closing the
student off. It's an honest appraisal based on experience that will allow
both to make a great longer term plan to reach the students goals.
Once again...we don't have enough information in the original posting of this
situation to know where this student is along those lines.
