I agree the serve involves rythm, but metioning dacing may
involve even more movement. What I suggest is that you get
your student to walk without his racquet or a ball in his
hands.Then tell to stand in the serving position. He has to
stand there and his arms and legs have to be relaxed, then
you put the racquet on his hand without letting him move it,
and then you put the ball in his tossing hand without letting
him move that hand as well, last thing is ask him if he
thinks his relaxed enough and then he can toss the ball and
serve from that position,...(something like Michael Stich did).
The less you move the more relaxed and balanced you are. The
weight transfer is automatic when you serve. If you start from
a good positon, 90% of the time you'll have a good serve.
