[tennisbiz] Re: Old tennis balls
I have seen them used to make Christmas wreaths (Mixed in with evergreen).
They make good toys for pets. I have seen them used to form words when pushed
into the fence (Go Team). I have also seen them on the legs of senior
citizen's walkers, on auto trailer hitches, and in floral arrangements. One friend
went to the craft shop and bought "Google eyes" and other props that she used
on them to create unique and humorous gifts.
We used them as containers for end of year medal awards to team members by
CAREFULLY cutting them half way through and squeezing the medal through the
slit. We tried to use a ball that came from one of the recipient's matches.
I know you said "other than give them away," but there are creative ways to
give them away (and still get the tax break). Retirement homes could use them
for senior recreation. School PE departments (K-12) can use them in both
tennis and non-tennis activities.
