[tennisbiz] Best age for free junior tennis program
A non-profit agency that provides free tennis lessons
to kids in the city is trying to use money wisely and
be able to show some success for the effort. So, What
do you think is the best age to target inorder to show
success for a free program? Second Grade? Ninth
Grade? or something in the middle?
If one starts too young most of the kids won't be able
to develop skills that look like tennis, although they
do seem to have fun. Its also mostly true that to
develop a tournament tennis player they must begin
young.
If one starts too old, say by high school most of the
kids won't start a new sport. Attendance is a problem
But physically, a good number of high school age
player can show significant improvement over 6 months.
So any other discussion ideas on what age a non profit
providing free tennis lessons should target are
welcomed.
