[tennisbiz] Re: Tennis Coaching Excellence
Hi Phillippe,
1. A good tennis coach is someone who can explain good tennis techniques in
a way that the student understands and enjoys, who can notice mistakes in
their students' techniques and show them how to make the changes necessary
to improve, while praising, encouraging the student and making the lesson
fun to take part in.
2. This one is easy: Bad coaches are interested in themselves, in money
above the needs of the student, in teaching only good players, in taking it
easy by doing the same as they have always done, in dogmatically repeating
old fashioned ideas and drills and worst of all they do not listen to the
worries and concerns of the student.
Great coaches listen to the students, find the appropriate method of
teaching them individually, vary the lessons to make them fun and are
inspirational in their enthusiasm.
Regards
Steve.
