[tennisbiz] Backboard Tennis

Hi. First time on this list. A volunteer group in Carrboro, where I
teach and live, is trying raise money to install a tennis backboard on
the town courts.

I will compile a collection of very interesting/inspiring "backboard
stories" and "teaching suggestions" for learning on a wall which will
help inspire the creation of the wall and the use of the wall.
Please write back if you have a story/experience with a tennis backboard
that you feel would be worth passing along to others involved or wanting
to get involved in tennis.

I starting learning tennis when I was 12. Hours and hours of daily
practice on a backboard helped me improve extremely fast without any
lessons, but unfortunately I didn't think I needed lessons.

Trying to correct my hammer-like backhand on my own prevented me from
"rising in the ranks".
