[tennisbiz2] Re: Code of Behavior
I think there are two ways to educate members about proper behavior:
1) Conspicuously post some straight-forward rules: No cell phone calls
on court, no beverages except water, no more than three balls on any
court that is not a lesson by a club pro, wait for a point to end before
returning balls to neighboring courts.
2) Include a column on tennis manners in the club newsletter: How to
warm-up; presenting (rather than smacking) balls to the server;
announcing the score before each game and each point.
3) Educate the club pros. Make it clear that part of every lesson
include a discussion of club rules and court conduct. A courteous
player is a popular player. The game is more than forehands and
volleys.
