Ways to handle challenge matches for your team
Teaming people together can be tricky -- especially if you have a number of
closely rated players. From past experience, I recommend establishing a
formal approach and sharing it with your team early-on to avoid conflict.
At the World Wide Tennis Ladder, we established our Power Rating formula as
a way to rate players using challenge match results. Our system
automatically adjusts players ratings based on each match played. We have
also just launched our doubles ladder that can be used to rate teams. To
learn more details about our formula, you can review the following page (the
Power Rating system works better for a team environment):

We are also very interested in working with high school teams and will
gladly establish a private ladder for any coach that is interested in
working with us. In this way, you can review your singles player ratings
and doubles team ratings on web pages dedicated just to your team. It may
even give your player's extra incentive to continue play after the season
without being an "organized, school-sponsored activity". All of our
services are free for players and teams.
Best of luck! Enjoy the season.
