[tennisbiz] Re: Dealing with bad attitudes
<x-charset ISO-8859-1>Attitude in life as well as sport is a character issue. A
person's attitude on and off the court is set early in life
by several factors, no least of which is how they were
raised and, also, who and what experiences influenced their
lives. Changing the attitude of a young person may be
difficult, but it's not impossible, provided the youngster
is open to suggestion. Whether or not you choose to do it
is a judgement call. Sometimes the opportunity presents
itself clearly, and sometimes you just have to work with
what you have, warts and all. A strong positive sports
program can do wonders for changing attitude, but not
everyone in the program will develope equally. It is
definately a challenging assignment for a teaching pro, but
that's why you guys get paid the big bucks!
