[tennisbiz] USTA Funding for CTA's
I helped start a Community Tennis Association and our regional
USTA office helped arrange some state funding.
However, our regional USTA officer said that funding would not be
allowed if I were on the board of directors, because I am a director
of tennis at a local tennis club and it would, therefore, be a conflict
of interest.
Now, I have no problem with that if that is a USTA policy, but it
seems strange to me.
Do any of the members of this group know of any similar policies?
It would seem to me that it would be to the advantage of the CTA to
have a manager of a local tennis club be an officer because a
tennis club can offer quite a bit to the CTA.
