Lower tension to an extent will increase the spin. This doesn't
necessarilly mean more control however, since you are being
given more power at the same time. Most professionals lower there racquet
tension during the clay court season simply
because they are hitting more balls, and therefore are giving there arm a
slight rest. In addition, it gives them the power
to keep the ball deep in those greuling 15 + stroke rallies.
