Kansas is the same, in that we have the girls play in the fall,and the guys
in the spring. Our season ending state tourney is also the same, with
individuals qualifying to win a "team title." The singles winner for the
state could gie his team the thrid place in state, even if s/he is the only
one from the team to qualify, just by virtue of points given for taking
first place. I always thought that ending the season like the NCAA does
would make more sense; having the teams play duels to find out which team is
the best, and then, if the interest is there, have an additional season
ending singles and double s tournament.
