[tennisbiz] Fun Day Ideas
<x-charset iso-8859-1>Dear all
Greetings from Scotland, the land where we have to sweep the snow and ice
off the courts to play.
We are a small club (c.300 members) and I have recently been employed as the
Club Coach. I'm building up the membership base and driving everyone to get
out on the court (even though it's -5 degrees) but I'm looking for ideas
beyond the American Tournament, Social Tennis kind of events that everyone
always organises for juniors and adults alike.
I would also be interested to hear from any coaches / club presidents etc.
who have built a small club into a large one and how they went about it.
As most of you will know Britain has had little to shout about re top
players, even though old Tim Henman just beat the 'Scud' in Adelaide. The
Lawn Tennis Association is feverishly getting behind Mini Tennis Programmes
and any ideas you can give me from across the pond to turn tennis into a
sport for all would be much appreciated.
Regards and best wishes for 002
