[tennisbiz] Golden age for Girl and Boys
I have a daughter who will be 11 on next month,
December. I have been reading that girls golden age is
between 9-12 while boys is between 12-15. These are
period when they will growth faster, particularly on
height. Additionally, the added 1 hr sleep in the
early morning between 6-7 AM are good for their
growth.
I have been followed this process for my daughter for
the last couple years and it seems to work. She is
4'10 now which is good with our height (myself 5'10
and my wife 5'7). However, she have been very slow and
not alert on all USTA Southern California tournaments
that was started at 8 AM because of travel to the
tournament site and not enough warm-up and/or ready
for the matches. I would like to hear your
comments/ideas/suggestions about the following
facts/issues:
1. Is this golden age and the benefit of late sleep
TRUE?
2. If YES, should USTA tournaments for these age group
should be scheduled to start at 10/11 AM?
3. What are the best ways to prepare my daughter for
this problem?
She won the last 3 tournaments fairly easy with all
the matches starting after 10 AM but lost badly in the
semi this week with the match starting at 8 AM as well
as several matches that was started at 8 AM before.
