<x-charset iso-8859-1>We have a big problem today with tennis and equal everything. A 12 year old
girl has endless possibilities for college. She can go the beauty pagent
route, she can go with cheerleading, or drill team, flag line, academic, or
sports. They have basketball, volleyball, track, swimming, softball, fast
pitch softball, soccer, golf, and tennis as well as others. For an NCAA
division one school They have 8 scholarships where the guys have 4. There
are tons of schools with no mens program but a full womens program. Equal, I
don't think so. How many of us tennis players participated in High School
Football. That is always their excuse for us being so mistreated in Tennis.
In my state there are twice as many High School boys participating yet when
you talk to parents about getting their boy a scholarship in tennis you tell
them about the needle in the haystack. I have had girls that don't even play
tournaments that have gotten full tennis scholarships.Equal pay, I think we
are way past that.
