For a look in the future of baseline play due to technology and other
factors, look to Table tennis. If tennis stays on its current track
players will be playing Table Tennis on the tennis court - every one is
super fit, hits with an open stance, puts tremendous spin and/or pace on
the ball. The two handed backhand could become obsolete because it takes
too long(too many steps) to reach the ball. Players might eventually
figure out how to hit a one hand backhand by hitting the ball on the
same racket face side as that of their forehand stroke(windshield wiper
stroke).Ever notice how some extremely gifted tennis players have some
similarities in stroke patterns as that of a rank beginner???
