[tennisbiz] Re: Suggestions for determining mixed doubles pairings?
Daniel,
I don't know how serious you are about using the suggested mixer as a guide
for future pairings. Consider this: You have 16 players, half of which sit
out every round.
In 2 1/2 hours, including warm-up time, and time for the players to get
ready for each round, you may be able to squeeze in seven or eight rounds of
about 15 minutes each. This means that each player will play three to four
rounds. You can certainly run an enjoyable event with a balanced schedule
under those circumstances, but it is very questionable if it will give you
any guidance for future pairings.
Now and then, I have been asked for suggestions for events to determine who
should be playing on league teams. I documented one such plan at
www.kjell2.com/teampick.htm This is a relatively ambitious plan, but with
only 2 1/2 hours to work with, your ambitions must be scaled down
accordingly!
Good luck!
