[tennisbiz2] Re: Wet weather programme
Kevin asked:
"We have a long wet winter and often need to have wet weather programmes in
place without a tennis court. Variety is the key for talented children. Can
someone point me in the right direction for wet weather
programmes?"
We had an inclement weather schedule which contained several canned
lesson plans. Some examples are shown below.
Nutrition (High performance diet; proper eating before and during matches
and exercise; weight control; hydration)
Health (Physical fitness; heat injury; minor aches; drug
avoidance--including alcohol and smoking)
Sportsmanship (The Code; Line calls; how to handle cheating)
Team Activities (Uniform preference, social activities; School rules i.e.,
School bus)
Camaraderie projects (Team water bottles; senior appreciation day; parents
day; secret Pal)
Tennis instruction (Mental toughness; Doubles and singles strategy; partner)
communication; Equipment e.g., grips, string, rackets, sweat bands, tennis
bag contents)
Videos (our own matches when taped for analysis, commercial video
instruction)
