[tennisbiz2] Re: Code of Behavior
Greetings,
To answer the questions about proper etiquette around the club, here are my
opinions on water and more than 3 balls on court. As an "on-court" working
coach there is usually nothing wrong with Gatorade or some other "nutritious"
drink. Unless its red, blue, or brown and you don't spill it. They then can
very quickly become an issue on an indoor hard court. The sugary drinks that
some prefer may not pose an issue inside. When you have that same drink outside
it can easily become a bee magnet. Now, as for the ball question. I do
recommend that our players get out and practice as much as possible. It is all
about communication. If you are practicing your serve, take an end court and
serve into the corner of the fence. The players on the court next to you will
surely appreciate it. If you are going to hit/rally with more than 3 balls you
must keep track of all those balls. I don't know why anyone would put
themselves through the added stress of keeping their extra balls off the other
courts. If you are their to practice move as far away from the other players as
possible. The extra ball issue can be moot, of course, if you have nets
dividing your courts. Continuing education by the pro-staff to the membership is
key. Never miss an opportunity to educate.
