[tennisbiz] Re: Swinging Volley
Swinging volleys are definitely part of the 21st century and are here
to stay.
The way I teach juniors is to feed them to them with a ball
machine, having them stand near the service line. When the
achieve a decent standard of success, then I have them get to the
base line hit a couple of balls on a bounce and then come in and
attack the ball.
The toughest part of a swinging volley is coming in to hit it.
It is also important not to take too big a back swing, hit with
enough topspin to bring the ball back in the court, and try to hit it
when it is higher than the net.
