[tennisbiz2] Re: Instructional questions
Dear Ron,
You should get a lot of response from your inquiries.
For information on some of your questions, I would recommend that you go to
www.uspta.org and click on the USPTA Player Development star and you will
be treated to the latest information on current playing styles and training.
The USPTA is a leader in this area as the information is compiled by an
advisory council of experts including Nick Bollettieri, Rick Macci, Jim
Loehr, Jack Groppel, Paul Roetert, Dave Porter and Tim Heckler. The USPTA
also conducts many seminars and workshops throughout the country in this
area that are presented by the above experts and by other USPTA members and
staff including Brett Hobden, who has authored and spoken on many aspects of
the modern game of tennis.
Also on the mental aspect of the game, you might want to check out
information provided by Jim Loehr and W. Timothy Gallwey on the subject of
"Inner Tennis". "Inner Tennis" has been around a while, but still has some
relevance in teaching mind relaxation and focus.
Keep up the enthusiasm for looking for ways to improve your students
talents.
Ron Woods, USPTA
